The project to set up an Internet exchange point (IXP) in Morocco was formalized on December 20, 2023, with the signing of a contract between the parties involved for the turnkey implementation, management and administration of the IXP.
The contract is between the three global operators (Itissalat Al-Maghrib, Medi Telecom and Wana Corporate) and INTELCOM, the service provider selected following an international tender.
The signing took place at the headquarters of the Agence Nationale de Réglementation des Télécommunications, in the presence of the Direction Générale de la Sécurité des Systèmes d'Information (www.dgssi.gov.ma), which had launched an international consultation for the selection of the service provider to manage the IXP.
